Looking Back On My Internship

Ashley CompAs I look at the calendar, I find myself wondering how the summer went by so fast!

I have been very busy working on the 2015 MaxYield tractor calendar, which is coming together and looking great. It has been a great experience for me to see this project as it has progressed from just starting out, and taking pictures and interview owners for their write ups, to picking out the color schemes and seeing the proofs. I have also been working with the interns for their individual blogs and videos, and helping with My Solutions magazine.

Through this internship I have been able to meet many great role models. I have had the opportunity to work with free-lance photographer, Greg Latza, and journalist Darcy Maulsby. In today’s world it has become so important for agriculturalists to share their story, and both Greg and Darcy serve as excellent advocates.

As an agronomy major this internship has been both challenging and exciting. It has given me a glance into the world of marketing and showed me another aspect of agriculture. Before taking this internship I had no idea how much time and effort goes into each marketing product that MaxYield provides their clients with, such as My Solutions magazine and the annual tractor calendar.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to intern with MaxYield Cooperative. Throughout my internship I have been able to see a different side of agriculture that I had never been exposed to before. I want to thank MaxYield for giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to my future career in agriculture!
