My MaxYield Internship: Clint McConnell

Clint Edit for BlogInternship Update

As your internship has progressed what are some new things you have learned this summer? I have learned how MaxYield originates grain for their end-users and how Enogen corn is handled. I also had the opportunity to load train so I was able to see firsthand how that process operates.

What are some of the new projects you have been working on? Lately I have been entering outbound settlements that MaxYield sends to end-users and I have also been recording the rail and truck basis contracted by MaxYield from the last few years.

What is one of the best experiences you have had as an intern? I have really enjoyed getting to work with great people and having opportunities to network and learn at different MaxYield locations and events.

What are some of the activities you have been involved with lately as a MaxYield intern? Recently I toured the MaxYield locations with Harry Bormann and three individuals visiting from Brazil. I also had the opportunity to attend a grain merchandising workshop with Shiliah Spaulding and Mick Hoover in Council Bluffs.

What motivates you working as the MaxYield Grain Operations Intern? I am motivated at MaxYield because I know I am getting great experience from my internship and I have had the opportunity to create good networking skills that will be vital in helping me find a job after graduating college.

Who has been your biggest role model at MaxYield? Harry Bormann has played a big role throughout my internship at MaxYield. He is a great guy to work with and he is always willing to answer my questions.
